Thanks to Everyone who came out to support the the 8th Annual Elks Community Thanksgiving Dinner it was a big suggest because of you. Thank you Old Dominion Elks Lodge #181 and the students from the YES Program you all worked hard and it showed.

Parents please monitor your students online and computer use.

I know that you want to give your child all the love and support to help them grow. I know you LOVE them, but please please monitor there time and usage on the computer, There are sick people out there who's purpose and intention is to hurt our children. Our job as parents is to protect them. We will be conducting training to teach parents how to monitor the use and sites that their children are visiting, We owe this to you and them,. Stay tune starting Jan 11, 2013 at 10 am we start free training to teach all of you how to do this.

Young Entrepreneurial Spirits Program Free to all students

Wow we are well into the latest session of "YES" what a great group of young people, You are so dedicated and work hard at every task and I'm grateful for each of you. I want to recognize Alexis Washington for recruiting more young people. The YES Program is nothing without all of you. If you are interested in joining us, we meet every Saturday from 9-12. We always have room for you. We are in the planning stage for Spring Bling Fashion Showcase and we will also be planning our 1st annual Community Easter Dinner. If you are seriously interested in doing some hard work, for free, with little recognition, and only a Heartfelt "Thank you" then please let us know. You are who we need.

Never stop learning

As we prepare for the Christmas break please students don't stop learning. Read a good book to broaden your mind and vocabulary. May I recommend my favorite book "The Holy Bible". It has something in it for everyone, history, mystery, drama, great epic battles and a true love story that no other can match. I have always loved this book and I highly recommend it to all of you. It can found every where online, in stores and my favorite location, your local church.
